CRUISES FROM BARCELONA AND MALAGALATEST SPANISH CRUISE NEWS!
LIVING IN SPAIN? There has NEVER been a more favourable time to use your Euro credit card to pay for cruises priced in sterling! SUMMER 2010 The Summer season once again sees the cruising giants going head to head with prices very much the same as the previous year. Seven night Mediterranean cruises are very much the order of the day with cruise operators choosing to deploy some of the newest ships on the ever popular circular Mediterranean route. Weekend departures commence on Fridays beginning early April with the two biggest Mediterranean operators, Costa and MSC offering a familiar 7 night itinerary that includes visits to Tunisia, Italy and the French Riviera.Costa are utilising the Costa Concordia and MSC the Fantasia. There is little to choose between the ships or the pricing, although MSC is likely to work out cheaper if children are involved. The two companies compete again with early weekly departures, again to the Western Mediterranean. The MSC Splendida departs every Monday whilst Costa are offering a Tuesday departure on the Costa Pacifica. The 7 night itineraries are virtually identical, visiting Malta, Sicily, Italy and Tunisia. Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) are once again featuring the popular Norwegian Jade on a 7 night itinerary departing every Sunday and calling at Monte Carlo,Rome, Naples Livorno (for Pisa/Florence) and Palma, a nice mix of ancient cities and chic resorts. For the budget conscience, a slightly older ship normally means a slightly lower price. Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas departs every Sunday whilst the Costa Marina leaves on Mondays. Both itineraries are 7 night Mediterranean cruises with perhaps the Costa ship having the more interesting stops. These include Capri, Minorca, Monte Carlo and Olbia in Sardinia. If you cannot spare the time for a 7 night cruise, Royal Caribbean feature a series of 4 and 5 night cruises on their ship Adventure of the Seas during May and June whilst another Royal Caribbean ship, Brilliance of the Seas sails a longer 12 night itinerary for those with a bit more time to spare. The longer duration allows the ship to sail into the Eastern Med and Adriatic and includes stops in Venice or Kusadasi in Turkey, depending on the departure date. All the aforementioned departures continue until the end of October. LOOKING AHEAD Recent announcements have revealed some exciting news for Summer 2011.
